Talisman is an ongoing series/collection of books that celebrates the changing agency in books. By writing messages, notes or prayers inside these books as a gift, the power and significance has shifted from the content of the book and the inscription to the object itself. This is a transformation. As receiver we keep these books near for a new reason; not for the text on the page but for sentiment, memorial, even protection. It is often said that books are containers. What else do they contain beyond text and image? In this series the viewer is invited to participate in the intimate reveal of this new power.
